Associates of the Congregation of Divine
Providence (ACDPs) a
re women and men
who have experienced a call to live the mission
and charism of the Congregation of Divine
Providence within their particular lifestyle.
CDP Associates commit themselves in their
individual settings, to collaborate with the Sisters in carrying out the mission of Jesus to bring good
news to the world that God loves and provides for
all creation. Associates also live the spirituality of
the Congregation by manifesting confidence in a
provident God who guides, loves and cares for
all creation.
CDP Associates are women and men at least
18 years of age who come from diverse faith
traditions who seek a formal relationship with
the Sisters of Divine Providence of San Antonio,
Texas. Young Adult Associates are those women and
men who are 18 – 40 years of age. CDP Associates
are formally accepted as lay associates, after
requesting affiliation with the Congregation
and participating in an Associate Formation
Process.
Hallmarks of the ACDP
evidence of Providence spirituality
in one’s life
The bondedness between Sisters and Associates
consists in living the Congregation’s charism of
trust in a loving God and expressing that charism
in service to others. CDP Associates benefit from
sharing in the daily prayer of the Sisters and other
Associates. They have access to CDP publications
and the website. They also receive the spiritual
and emotion support from the Sisters and other Associates
in difficult and joyful times, while benefitting from
their experience of community with the CDPs and other
Associates and the worldwide Congregations of
Sisters of Providence founded by Blessed John Martin
Moye.
