Two Expressions of Association in the CDPs
All Associates are united in their identification with the
charism of the Sisters of Divine Providence, but they express their association
in one of two forms. Both expressions require participation in and completion
of the formation process before initial commitment. Both imply a connection
among Sisters and Associates through prayer and community.
Prayer Association
Prayer and community connections identify these Associates who pray for the Church, the mission of the Sisters of Divine Providence, and the needs of the Sisters and Associates; stay in contact with the Sisters and other Associates through prayer, celebrations, and social activities; and occasionally participate in group gatherings; and share with others the history and charism of the CDP's.Service Association
Prayer, community connections, and sharing the history of the CDPs, mentioned above in the identification of Prayer Association, also identify these Associates. Additional marks of identity include: service in the Church and community; attendance at Associate gatherings and designated Congregational gatherings; continued formation in spirituality and ministry; leadership in Church, neighborhood, civic organizations.
