Mobile Ministry

"Exploring New Avenues of Providence"

In exploring, we take risks, not certain of the outcome. Avenues are usually more scenic than streets or roads; we are seeking new paths that are fresh and full of life. Providence is our global positioning system.

Mobile Ministry is an ongoing project of the Sisters of Divine Providence and their Associates. Its aim is to serve the Church in rural areas or other parishes that experience a need for further faith development. (Move your mouse pointer over our logo to read about it.)

The team has served over 70 Catholic parishes and Catholic Schools since August of 2005, traveling to various parts of Texas and Louisiana.

A team of Sisters and Associates is ready to serve your parish. We come to you well prepared with educational and catechetical backgrounds, spiritual preparation, and ministry experiences.

Mission Statement
In proclaiming with Jesus the Reign of God, the Sisters of Divine Providence, through Mobile Ministry, offer service to Catholic communities through catechetical support and enrichment, adult faith and spirituality formation, and pastoral leadership development.

Most Frequently Requested Workshops for Adults

• Sessions about faith and spiritual topics, for personal spiritual growth in relationship to God and faith community
• A session for parents whose children will make their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, using this teachable moment for parents to learn their role as primary educators of the faith
• A Confirmation retreat for Confirmandi, sponsors and parents, using this teachable moment for all to learn the current teachings of the Catholic Church on the Sacrament of Confirmation
• A session for parents as primary religious educators and models of the faith
• A session on parenting skills, which includes effective communication tips for parents and teen/child

Each of these programs will include a prayerful framework with a power-point presentation and activities that involve the group. Each session lasts from 2-5 hours depending on the need and the request.

Mobile Ministry suggests Moye Retreat Center in Castroville, Texas as a possible setting for retreats.

FEES
The fee for a three-hour session is $200; however, the fee can be negotiated.

PRESENTERS
Presenters are also available to give keynote addresses at conferences and to offer conference workshops.
