2023 PROSO Zoom Lenten Journey: Tenacious Hope
Date:  March 1, 15 and 29 (three Wednesday nights during Lent).
Times: 7:00-8:30 Eastern Time; 6:00-7:30 Central Time
Location:  by Zoom*

Description:  Lent is the perfect time to seek God with greater tenacity and open our hearts to Christ’s love and grace. Learn something new, stifle old fears and embrace the challenges set before us as People of Providence in our world today.

The 2023 PROSO Zoom Lenten Journey: Tenacious Hope includes a reflection guide and a safe space for personal conversion and compassionate encounter with several socially marginalized groups. The three evening series includes input, prayer, sharing and personal testimony meant to move us outside our comfort zones.  Programs last for an hour, followed by an additional optional 30 minutes of conversation and community building.

  • March 1 – Immigration
  • March 15 – Racism
  • March 29 0 LGBQT+ Community

Cost:  $50 for one or all “come as you can” Lenten evenings.

Zoom:  Working knowledge of Zoom is required.  You will receive the link 48 hours before each evening and again on the day of the event.  Register at least 24 hours in advance for links and the journey guide.  (Technological assistance is not available on the evening of the program.)

New Year’s Early Evening Prayer Vigil & People of Providence Party
Date:  Saturday, December 31 2022; 7:00–8:15 PM Eastern; 6:00-7:15 PM Central Time.

Description:  Support PROSO Ministry and praise our Provident God as we usher out the old year and ring in the new one. Our second annual New Year’s Eve celebration:

  • Begins with a 30 minute Prayer Vigil with New Year’s Reflections live streamed on Facebook from the CDP Visitation Chapel in Allison Park, PA.
  • 15 minutes later (at 7:45 ET/6:45 CT), join us for the second annual structured virtual “People of Providence Party” via your Zoom link.

Cost:  Free or by offering to benefit PROSO Ministry.

2022 Prayer Vigil and Party Hosts:  Co-hosted by PROSO for Sisters, Associates and friends of the Congregations of Divine Providence of Texas and the Marie de la Roche Province.

Beauty Ever Ancient, Ever New: Discovering the “O Antiphons”

 

Dates: Virtual Zoom Afternoon Reflection, Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022 from 1:30-3:00 PM Eastern, 12:30-2:00 PM Central Time.
In-Person Evening Reflection and Social at Kearns Spirituality Center in Allison Park, PA, Tuesday Dec. 20, 2022 from 6:30-8:00 Eastern.

Description: The beauty and rich imagery of the O Antiphons have touched hearts, minds and spirits for more than 1,500 years. Each of the seven “O” exclamations mirror the hopes and dreams of all who long for Christ.  The rich Advent imagery, scriptural texts, music accompanying of these Antiphons can heighten your awareness of sacred beauty of the final week leading up to Christmas. Your session includes prayer, music, scripture, input and sharing. Cost: $20.

Presenter:  Sr. Joyce Detzel, CDP, is a mother, grandmother and Sister of Divine Providence of San Antonio. She is a teacher, attorney, spiritual director, and founder and Director of PROSO Ministry.

“Weaving a Future of Hope” Roundtable Conversations

Date: October through December 2022 Time: Dates, times and contact information is listed below Description: Come share seeds of life, faith and hope germinating in us during times of change and transition. Each roundtable conversation provides time to:

  • Meet and build new or stronger bonds.
  • Welcome the seeds of Providence emerging in our personal and consecrated lives.
  • Offer encouragement, new insights and creative possibilities.
  • Find friendship and solidarity in our call to make Providence (God’s love and care) visible in our daily lives, communities and service to others.
