Our Program

Self-paced, Individual Graduation Plan

Sophia Women's Learning Center is a self-paced, independent study environment. Courses are computer-based, with speech and some English lessons given in a traditional classroom setting. Our state-of-the-art classroom includes 16 computer stations and a resource room. Teachers are on-site to help students with course work and computer skills.

Each student follows an individual graduation plan based on her transcript and state requirements for graduation. As of December 2008, 29 women, from 19 to 59 years old, have received their high school diplomas through the Sophia Women’s Learning Center.

Saturday Classes

Classes for the Sophia Women’s Learning Center are held on Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Convent Center. Students may also arrange for tutoring during the week by appointment.
