Seek Learning, Gain Wisdom

What Our Students Say

I dropped out in the 12th grade. I’ve tried to get my G.E.D. but I did not learn from that because I didn’t have the support. Now, since I started at Sophia, my mind is clear. I can think better. If I need help in a certain subject, they are right there for me.
- Deborah D.

It was so wonderful to hear that I could use my computer at home to study, and meet with the tutors on Saturday mornings to help me with any questions that I may have. Mrs. Ayala and the staff are a great group of people to have on my side, helping me to make my dream come true. I truly believe that the Sophia Women’s Learning Center is God’s blessing to the women that attend the program.
- Susan C.

Program Benefits

Women accepted into the program will:

  • Develop computer and Internet skills while completing their course requirements for a high school diploma.
  • Improve learning skills as they learn and work in a self-paced environment.
  • Create a plan for achieving educational, career, and personal goals.
  • Increase job opportunities.
  • Gain self-confidence as they begin to achieve their goals.

Many of our graduates have gone on to further their education by enrolling in college or career training schools. Every graduate has improved the quality of life for herself and her family by increasing her knowledge and job opportunities. As one graduate stated, she was hired on the spot for a stable position with benefits “all because I have a high school diploma.”
