Providence Catholic School opened its doors 65 years ago as Providence High School – a school for young girls founded by the Congregation of Divine Providence (CDP).  In 1951, almost every class was taught by a CDP.  Today, every class is taught by a lay teacher but the foundation and example set by the CDP remains alive and well.  Generations of women have learned to be of service to their communities and country because of the example the Sisters set, lessons learned inside and outside the classroom since 1951 and through their 150 years of history.

The administration, faculty and staff remind our girls daily of the charism and foundational values of the CDP.  The girls recite the Prayer of Abandonment at the beginning and at the end of the day.  The Sisters visit often, especially on special occasions such as this September 12 birthday celebration, December 8 Renewal of CDP Vows at Mass, the annual Spring Gala, etc.. The CDP are actively involved as members of the Board of Trustees.  In turn, most classes and organizations visit the Sisters at Our Lady of the Lake Convent.  Both girls and Sisters look forward to their happy reunions.  Happy Birthday Providence and Thank you Sisters for your sponsorship, dedication, love and support!
