Sister Carol Stenger, CDP has been a Sister of Divine Providence of the Marie de la Roche Province in Pittsburgh, PA for over 55 years. She joined the PROSO Team in the spring of 2021. She is a former grade school teacher, religious education director and has served on her Congregational leadership team. She is a licensed clinical social worker and spiritual director for Samaritan Counseling of Western PA. Collaborating with her “CDP cousins” in Texas is a new and exciting adventure. Sr. Carol is interested in social justice issues and studying and addressing systemic racism. She says, “I am thrilled and in awe at the possibilities of this new, life-giving expression of Providence among all the Sisters and Associates of both Congregations. As her founder, Bishop Ketteler (1850’s) said: ‘I love the age in which we live for its mighty wrestling with sublime ideas no matter how far we are from attaining them.’”
