Congregation of Divine Providence Renewal of Vows

On Wednesday, June 21st, the Sisters embraced an inspiring moment together as they gathered for their Renewal of Vows and the Renewal of Temporary Vows by Sister Christina Chávez and Sister Melissa Cessac. It was a time filled with joy and celebration as the Sisters reaffirmed their commitment to their vocational calling. Congratulations, Sisters!

Amidst a reverent atmosphere, the Congregation bore witness to the heartfelt renewal of vows, where the Sisters solemnly professed their dedication to their chosen path. With deep conviction and faith, they declared:

“…in the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and of all here present, I renew my vows of Poverty, Celibacy, and Obedience according to the Constitution of the Sisters of Divine Providence…”

These vows encapsulate the Sisters’ commitment to their on-going spiritual journey and the values they hold dear. Poverty, a vow of selflessness and detachment, serves as a testament to their desire to care for God’s creation and extend a helping hand to those in need. Celibacy empowers them to love all individuals with a warm and compassionate heart, fostering genuine connections, mirroring the compassionate love of Jesus. Obedience, a vow of deep listening, enables them to attune their lives to God’s word and act in union with the Church as Sisters of Divine Providence.

Sister Christina Chávez and Sister Melissa Cessac also renewed temporary vows “for one year according to the Constitution of the Sisters of Divine Providence.” Their personal calling and commitment provide a profound opportunity for all of us to reflect on our own relationship with God and seek ways to deepen our connection. As the Sisters took this momentous step, they illuminated a path for others to nurture their bond with our Provident God, to follow Christ’s example, and to open our lives to the transformative workings of the Holy Spirit.

May their renewed vows continue to guide them on their faith journey as Sisters of Divine Providence, as they touch countless lives with their love, compassion, and unwavering faith.
