40 CANS or CASH for LENT

This year, the Associates of Sisters of Divine Providence of Texas are hosting the “40 CANS or CASH for LENT” food drive in memory of Associate Thomas J. Thornton II. Thomas was a kind soul who always volunteered when asked, especially during food drives.

The food drop-off is located at the entrance to the Convent, 603 SW 24th Street, with hours of operation Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Donations of canned goods, dry goods, and non-perishable items are welcome. Food drive ends March 27th. For more information, please call (210) 434-1866.

This Lenten season let us take up the challenge of encountering God through those who are truly hungry. According to Catholic Charities, more than one million people in Texas experience hunger on a regular basis. By providing non-perishable food donations, we can respond to the Gospel message of feeding the hungry and offering more than just a meal. We are offering compassion and hope to those in need.

Let us honor Thomas’s memory by giving generously to this food drive. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
