Praying for an End to the Death Penalty

Again and again, we Sisters gather on 24th Street by our wayside cross in front of Our Lady of the Lake Convent at the time scheduled for a state-sanctioned execution in Texas. We pray in silence for the one to be executed, for the victim’s family, and for an end to the death penalty. At a time when violence is escalating in our nation, we pray for an end to violence in all its forms.
