Sister Dianne Heinrich celebrates 50th Jubilee at High Hill

On July 16, 2016 in the company of her siblings, nieces, nephews, extended family and thirty of her fellow Sisters of Divine Providence, and High Hill and Bishop Forest High School alumni and longtime friends, Sister Dianne Heinrich, CDP celebrated her 50 years of religious life “..where it all started”, at St. Mary’s Church in High Hill, Texas. Sister Dianne attributes her parents and family, as well as the St. Mary’s Parish community, and the Sisters of Divine Providence who taught in the High Hill school, for instilling and nurturing her call to serve God as a member of the Congregation of Divine Providence, a CDP. She recalled sitting as a child in the front pew and looking at the beautiful stained glass crucifixion that meant so much to her.

St. Mary’s pastor, Fr. Tim Kosler, her cousin Msgr. Lawrence Stuebben and long-time co-worker and friend, Fr. John Carville, presided over this special Mass. Fr. John stated how blessed we all are for Sister Dianne’s “vibrant and fruitful vocation of 50 years, with more to come.” Congratulations, Sister Dianne for sharing all of your God-given talents with the people of God and for your fidelity to your call.

* Did you know that Mother St. Andrew started a school in High Hill – as a true CDP, always in places where no one else would go or no one else knew existed.  The fruit of that seed has been numerous vocations.  Sister Dianne is the last member of this parish to enter religious life.

The Heinrich Siblings (L-R: Elvira Kuhn, Bob Heinrich, Darlene Kainer, Sister Dianne Heinrich; center: Michael Heinrich, who celebrated his 65th birthday on the same day.)

The Heinrich Family minus about 30 who were unable to attend, some of whom attended the CDP Jubilee Celebration in San Antonio on June 12.

Sister Dianne sharing a bit of the history * of the CDP and St. Mary’s School and thanking all involved.

A good number of her CDP Sisters traveled from San Antonio and Houston. Sister Mildred Leonards who drove from Louisiana was the 7th and/or 8th grade teacher to Sister Dianne Heinrich, her fellow golden Jubilarian, Sister Helen Marie Miksch, and several of their Bishop Forrest classmates.
